NewsBy Amelie Maurice-JonesA woman in Quảng Ngãi province in central Vietnam has been charged for producing bootleg spirits made by mixing industrial alcohol with tap water, before selling the counterfeit alcohol on to customers. According to the province’s Economic Police Division, officers seized 103 plastic 30-litre containers containing cloudy, white liquid from Thuy’s business premises. As part of the raid, officials also discovered nine containers of industrial alcohol and 80 containers holding more than 200 litres of finished liquor that had allegedly been prepared for sale. Police said Thuy admitted purchasing high-strength alcohol of unknown origin before mixing it with tap water to produce the resulting white liquor for sale.
