Rwanda shuts down 101 liquor production sites amid public health concerns

The announcement came a day after the regulator ordered the closure of eight liquor manufacturers “in the interest of public health”.
The enforcement action follows growing concerns over the health impact of illicit alcohol in Rwanda.
Among adults aged 15 to 49, half of men and 36% of women reported drinking alcohol in the month before the survey.
