ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque Public Schools says 51% of meals will be scratch made this year, while advocates push for non-dairy milk on every school breakfast and lunch line. The law aimed to bring whole milk back to school cafeterias and also made it easier for parents to request dairy-free alternatives. Districts including Albuquerque Public Schools already provide milk alternatives after a parent makes a special request. Wolf said they are still figuring out whether they need new legislation or a rule change to require a standard non-dairy option. For now, parents can ask most school districts for milk alternatives.
