A 32-YEAR-OLD barangay staff member died after being shot by riding-in-tandem gunmen outside the Barangay Hall of Barangay Dumoy along MacArthur Highway on Tuesday evening, Aug. 4. Police identified the victim only as alias Jason, 32, a resident of Pepsi, Barangay Dumoy. The victim’s 22-year-old nephew, who was crossing MacArthur Highway at the time, witnessed two unidentified men aboard a red and black Honda XRM motorcycle approach the victim, who was standing near the barangay hall premises. Police said the motorcycle driver wore a black helmet, while the back rider—who fired the shots—wore a white helmet. Personnel from the Baliok Police Station have launched hot pursuit operations and are currently reviewing available CCTV footage along MacArthur Highway to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the fatal shooting.
