Jurors take just five hours to convict man of string of sex offences against girl

Trevor New-Watts had been on trial having denied eight offences, including two counts of rape, against the girl, but who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
But the 57-year-old will be sentenced later this month after a Norwich Crown Court jury took just over five hours to convict him of all offences.
New-Watts, of George Pope Road, Norwich, had been charged with two counts of rape against a girl under 13 between August 1, 2021, and December 31, 2022.

The defendant had also denied charges of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and a further offence of causing/inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
