Orange road safety barriers have been installed around the Morrisons petrol station forecourt with signs highlighting its closure.
The work, which is being carried out by contractors on behalf of Motor Fuel Group (MFG), will increase the size of kiosk at the fuel station on Albion Way and will also include a Pret A Manger.
Signs for the new cafe - as well as signs for new electric vehicles charging points - can be seen on metal meshing which has been installed around the jet washes behind the Riverside Retail Park kiosk.
Pret will become the fourth coffee shop to move into the retail park, with Starbucks, Greggs and Costa already operating there.
MFG which runs more than 1,000 sites across the country, plans to remove the recycling bin area and jet washes at the petrol station in order to replace them with a bigger shop area.
