Dennis Bacon (Image: County Council)The post, which will earn him £215,000 a year, still requires the normal pre-employment checks and sign-off from full council, which is due to meet at County Hall on Friday, August 14.
Mr Bacon’s appointment comes after Tom McCabe suddenly quit the post less than two months after Reform swept to power in May.
He was also the first independent sector figure appointed to an NHS System Leadership Board, and has previously picked up an Outstanding Leadership in Public Services award from the county council.
David Bick (Image: Reform UK)David Bick, the Reform leader of the council, said: “We were impressed with Dennis’s commercial and public sector experience, and his determination to lead the changes required at Norfolk County Council to ensure value for money and quality services for the residents of Norfolk.”
If given the final seal of approval by the council this month, Mr Bacon is expected to start as early as September.
