Mr Bacon’s appointment comes after Tom McCabe suddenly quit the post less than two months after Reform swept to power in May. He was also the first independent sector figure appointed to an NHS System Leadership Board, and has previously picked up an Outstanding Leadership in Public Services award from the county council.
