Senior PDP leaders and party workers assembled in the city carrying placards and raising slogans, asserting that the constitutional changes of August 5, 2019, had altered the political and constitutional framework of the erstwhile State. The party described the day as a significant moment in Jammu and Kashmir's recent history and maintained that the restoration of constitutional safeguards remains one of its core political demands. The leaders maintained that lasting peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir could be achieved through democratic engagement, constitutional processes and political reconciliation. Security personnel were deployed around the protest venue as a precautionary measure to ensure law and order.
