The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has appointed Chipolopolo legend and Green Eagles coach Perry Mutapa as Head Coach of the Under-20 Men’s National Team. Mutapa takes over from Boyd Mulwanda whose last assignment was the 2025 Under-20 AFCON tournament in Egypt. Until recently, Mutapa was an assistant coach with the Senior Men’s National Team that participated at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Chakatazya said FAZ has tasked the bench to qualify the team to the AFCON and subsequently to the FIFA World Cup. Former Chipolopolo defender Emmanuel Mbola and 2012 AFCON winner James Chamanga have been named Equipment Manager and Team Ambassador respectively.
