SRINAGAR: A hideout was unearthed in a remote area of Poonch district on Wednesday, with ammunition recovered during a joint search operation by the Army and police, officials said. The hideout, located inside a cave at Bhoriwala Dhok in Surankote tehsil, was found during a search carried out by the police and the Rashtriya Rifles. Officials said two magazines of an AK rifle, 117 rounds of ammunition and 17 rounds of 9 mm pistol ammunition were recovered from the site. In a separate development, the Army and police conducted searches in the Sunail Panchayat area of Akhnoor after a resident reported suspicious movement. No suspicious persons or material were found during either operation, officials said.
