Migration Policies Made EasyThere’s a constant tension in politics between wanting to improve immigration outcomes and not alienating certain demographics or appearing racist. But since migrant cohorts from different countries can produce markedly different outcomes, we need better principles to guide our migration policy. This leaves us three initial questions to ask when deciding which countries to prioritise for migration. 3/ Has this population imposed a high lifetime fiscal cost compared to the general population? Evidence may show that certain visa streams from a particular country have produced very successful migration outcomes.
