Hyderabad: An AI-powered urban flood intelligence platform, NalaWatch, developed by a team of Hyderabad students, won NxtWave's first-ever offline `Idea to Impact hackathon. Hosted at Kapil Kavuri Hub in Nanakramguda, the event served as the grand finale of NxtWave's nationwide online hackathon that began on July 10. Students from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry participated. The projects focused on themes such as smart automation, AI for public impact, open innovation, healthcare, agriculture, governance and urban mobility. According to the organisers, the hackathon also provided participants with opportunities to interact with mentors, industry experts and fellow innovators, fostering collaboration beyond the competition.
