Queensland Police have launched an investigation after a property went up in flames while five young children and two adults were inside the home on Wednesday morning. Emergency crews were called to a house on Leslie Parade in Stanthorpe about 8.30am and arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. Five children between the ages of three and five were found inside the home but luckily did not sustain any physical injuries, police said. They were both taken to Stanthorpe Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. “The fire is being treated as non-suspicious, and investigations into the cause are continuing,” the force said in a statement provided to The Nightly.
