A 70-year-old woman has been charged with murder over the death of a 56-year-old man who was found unresponsive at a North Queensland home in 2023. Detectives from the Crime Command Homicide Investigation Unit and Ayr Criminal Investigation Branch arrested the Forest Lake woman on Tuesday and charged her with one count of murder (domestic violence). Police previously said Mr Oar was experiencing serious malnourishment. Detective Inspector Jason Shepherd said at the time that Mr Oar had not received professional medical treatment for more than a decade. Queensland Police said the investigation into Mr Oar’s death had been complex, with detectives conducting extensive inquiries into his health, care and treatment throughout his life.
