Digital infrastructure and sovereign cloud provider SKY47 and ZTE revealed on Tuesday they have launched what they say is Pakistan's first and largest purpose-built, AI-ready data centre campus in Islamabad. The new facility, Karakoram-01, is a Tier III data centre purpose-built for sovereign cloud, AI acceleration, and enterprise transformation, with a total power capacity of 8.5MW. ZTE said it delivered a fully optimized end-to-end data centre solution for the project’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) parts, which it deployed in eight months. SKY47 – which is owned by Mari Energies – is also building data centres in Lahore and Karachi, according to its website. Combined with Karakoram-01, SKY47’s data centres will offer over 3,000 racks and a combined IT capacity of over 50MW.
