Clwyd MS Darren Millar is encouraging community groups, sports clubs, charities, and community councils across North Wales to apply for free defibrillators through two funding schemes: the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru Community Defibrillator Funding Programme and Calon Hearts’ North Wales Summer Defibrillator Giveaway. "Having a publicly accessible defibrillator nearby, alongside people trained in CPR, can dramatically improve someone’s chance of survival before the emergency services arrive." Under the BHF Cymru scheme, successful applicants will receive a fully funded defibrillator and cabinet, with installation costs covered if needed. The BHF Cymru scheme is open to community groups, sports clubs, social clubs, parish councils, community centres, and local social enterprises. Calon Hearts is inviting expressions of interest from groups across North Wales.
