Ericsson is set to be a significant influence on the development of physical AI and 6G in South Korea after being chosen for the nation’s Hyper-AI Network Infrastructure Demonstration Project. Ericsson highlighted specialities in standalone 5G and intelligent network automation among the elements it brings to the table. The vendor noted SKT is working to conduct pilots of physical AI services in 2027. Ericsson is joining a consortium which is to also comprise “network, AI, robotics and industrial partners”. The work is ultimately expected to help lay the groundwork for future 6G development and deployment, Ericsson explained.
