Its British conductor Benjamin Zander has decided to retire, at 88. His closing concert, in April 2027, will feature Mahler’s 9th symphony and Britten’s Sinfonia da Requiem. The future of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra has yet to be determined.
