The Labour Party was defeated over fuel taxes this spring when the Centre Party broke with the government bloc and joined forces with the opposition Conservatives, Liberal Party and the Christian Democratic Party to cut fuel taxes.
Six weeks ago, the Centre Party agreed a budget deal with the Labour Party, the Socialist Left Party, the Reds and the Green Party, according to which taxes are scheduled to increase again from September 1st.
