Coming in at #3 for Pleasantville top sports stories of the 2025-2026 school year is the football team making the state quarterfinals. The Trojan football team put together an impressive season in 2025 finishing the regular season with a 7-1 overall record and a 4-1 record in district play. Pleasantville went on to win their first playoff game against Durant 42-14 and then went on their road to win their second round game against Hudson 33-20. The Trojans then ran into a tough Iowa City Regina squad in the state quarterfinals where they fell 49-7. Despite the loss, the Trojans won their first playoff game since 2017 and set a new school record for offensive yards in a season.
