Sophie Louise Waldron, 33, of Dunning Road, Ferryhill, was found to have exceeded the speed limit while driving her Suzuki on July 18, 2025. The offence was recorded by manned equipment and found to be in violation of the Durham County Council’s local traffic order for the A167, which sets the limit at 40mph. Waldron was not present at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on July 30, where she entered a plea of guilty to the offence. She was fined £40, ordered to pay a £16 victim services surcharge, and £130 in costs. Her driving licence was endorsed with three penalty points and a collection order was made for deductions from benefits, totalling £186.
