Emergency services were called to the B6532 in Edmondsley, near Sacriston, Durham, following a crash some time before 2.30am. The road was shut between the Edmondsley Lane crossroads and Congburn Bank in both directions following the incident. The seriousness and nature of the crash is not yet known, nor whether anyone was taken to hospital as a result of the incident. Following the Edmondsley crash, police said: "Due to an road traffic collision on the B6532 in Edmondsley, the road is closed between the Edmondsley Lane crossroads and Congburn Bank in both directions. "The road is likely to be closed for some time.
