The sheriff’s office has since said it responded to the incident, and spoke to family members at the scene. The sheriff’s office confirmed the patient was “safely recovered” and taken to a local hospital, where he was receiving medical attention. Police added that a crisis response unit and licensed mental health professionals were also “on scene providing support and resources to the individual’s family”. A statement said: “The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals are also on scene providing support and resources to the individual’s family.”
