Kiya Sears had a hat trick and Mariah Vickery scored twice Tuesday night as Caldwell County’s girls blanked Apollo 8-0 in scrimmage action at Butler Stadium. The Lady Tigers needed just 50 minutes to finish off the mercy-rule victory. Caldwell erupted for five goals in an 8-minute stretch midway through the first half after the teams played into the 22nd minute without a score. Madison Jones, McKenna Jones and Nunie Bates each had one goal apiece for the Lady Tigers. The regular season for soccer begins next Monday when Caldwell County plays a girls and boys varsity doubleheader at Lyon County.
