The 300th recruit class of the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department celebrated an early training milestone on Tuesday by participating in the department’s yearly legacy run, a custom intended to foster collaboration and acquaint new firefighters with the department’s past. After starting the run at International Park, the 20 recruits crossed the Martin Luther King Bridge and proceeded through downtown Toledo. The recruits paid their respects to firefighters who lost their lives while performing their duties at the Toledo Firefighters Memorial, which is located outside fire headquarters.
