The Friends of King Alfred Buses (FoKAB) are celebrating the progress in rebuilding its unique 1950 Leyland Olympic JAA 708, which was badly damaged in a fire in December 2023. The restoration will reach a significant stage during the annual summer open weekend at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum (SVBM) in Lathalmond, Fife, on August 22 and 23. Starting to look like a bus, 708 stands in the open. The SVBM's open weekend runs from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23. Those interested in seeing the progress on the Olympic JAA 708 are encouraged to attend the SVBM's open weekend for a day of vintage bus appreciation.
