Ganderbal, Aug 4: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore on Tuesday chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in the district and reviewed the progress achieved under the ongoing farmer enrolment campaign. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the current status of farmer enrolment under PMFBY and took stock of the progress made across the district. The Deputy Commissioner was informed that there is considerable scope for enrolment of farmers. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that PMFBY provides comprehensive insurance coverage against crop losses from pre-sowing to post-harvest stages and plays a vital role in securing farmers’ livelihoods and promoting sustainable agriculture. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Lead District Manager Ganderbal, Chief Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Extension Officers among others.
