Susanna Hoffs releases new single inspired by day spent with Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir in 1988Susanna Hoffs has reminisced about a beautiful encounter with Bob Weir and an army of Deadheads on her new single, ‘Casablanca’.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times about ‘Casablanca’ and her experience within the Grateful Dead machine, Hoffs explained that it occurred when she was supporting George Michael on tour, which brought her to New Orleans.
At the same time, the Grateful Dead were also in The Big Easy to play at the University of New Orleans’ Lakefront Arena.
She added, “At one point, I looked back and there was a sea of Deadheads who realized it was Bob Weir.
Bob used to talk about the time he got to walk around New Orleans with Susanna Hoffs.'”
