If introduced, the feature could significantly simplify cross-device workflows for millions of iPhone and Windows users worldwide. Apple already has a feature called ‘Universal Clipboard’ that allows customers to copy and paste text, photos and other stuff between iPhones, iPads and Macs. But this feature only works with Apple devices, so Windows users cannot use it. Because of this, automatic clipboard sharing between an iPhone and a Windows PC is not possible. The new feature is expected to treat a paired Windows PC like a trusted accessory, such as a smartwatch.
