A father drowned trying to save his daughter off a Cornish beach during a family holiday, a coroner's court has heard. The retired technical manager, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, was on holiday in the town alongside Ms Collins and Adele Collins, who was Mr Collins's wife and Samantha's mother. Police said earlier Ms Collins entered the water carrying a peach or orange-coloured handbag which still has not been recovered. 'We were being hurled on the rocks'Jamie Stockwell, a witness, previously revealed how he plunged into the sea fully dressed in an attempt to save Ms Collins. "A woman on the cliff was desperately trying to ring her husband and daughter but neither was picking up."
