214,123 Maltese people left the island during the second quarter of 2026 – an increase of 0.5% compared to the previous year, according to data released by the National Statistics Office. This is a significantly lower amount compared to the number of inbound tourists that reached 458,223 in June alone. Between April and June, there were 139,802 tourist trips taken for holiday purposes, while 46,869 trips were for visiting friends and relatives. 47.4% of outbound tourists were aged between 25 and 44 years, while 30.7% were within the 45-64 age bracket.
