The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for several districts in Kerala, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next few days. According to the IMD, heavy rainfall refers to 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain within 24 hours, while very heavy rainfall means 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm during the same period.
