For months, residents around the Persimmon Homes development on Broad Street Green Road have raised concerns around clouds of dust leaving outdoor furniture, windows and parked vehicles filthy and even entering their homes.
Complaints to Maldon District Council described dust settling on washing, patios and plants, with residents accusing the developer of failing to use basic mitigation measures such as regular damping down, covering stockpiles and cleaning vehicles leaving the site.
The council said its enforcement officers have inspected the development and warned the firm that its current approach is not good enough.
A spokesperson for Persimmon Homes Essex said: “Like Maldon District Council, we are making every effort to manage dust despite the unseasonably hot weather we have encountered in recent weeks.
The developer insists it will continue working with the council to prevent any repeat of the recent problems.
