The Guardians are promoting top prospect Angel Genao, reports Yancen Pujols. The 22-year-old is already on Cleveland’s 40-man roster, as the Guardians selected his contract to keep him out of last winter’s Rule 5 draft. Genao hasn’t slowed down since being bumped up to Triple-A Columbus, where he’s hitting above .300 with nearly as many walks as strikeouts in 71 games. Genao has connected on 11 home runs, 20 doubles, and a triple while going 11-15 in stolen base attempts. Signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2021, Genao has consistently performed well and moved up prospect rankings as he’s climbed the minor league ladder.
