Terri-Ann Williams, 42, of Bridge Street, Birkenhead, was charged with 13 offences at multiple shops across Merseyside and sentenced as part of Operation Dale. Currently underway in Merseyside, Operation Dale aims to cut demand on officers but is also said to be freeing up vital police resources. The initiative streamlines retail crime investigations by using an entirely digital evidence process, cutting out unnecessary steps when sufficient evidence is available to support a charge. Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "Operation Dale has transformed the way we tackle retail crime. Operation Dale was first piloted in Liverpool in February this year and has already shown clear results.
