Hoylake Beach could be granted Town or Village Green status following an application to Wirral Council.
The council has appointed an independent inspector to review the application and make a recommendation.
A public hearing will take place at Melrose Hall on Station Road in Hoylake on Friday (August 7) from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
"An inspector will hear evidence from witnesses on behalf of the applicant, who will present evidence relating to the use of the land in support of the application."
"The inspector will consider the evidence presented before making a recommendation to Wirral Council on the application."
