St Mary's Hospice put out the appeal this week for drivers in Millom to support their efforts in tackling loneliness across the community. A spokesperson from the charity said: "Could you spare a little time to help someone stay connected to their community? "We're looking for volunteer drivers to support people in and around Millom to get to places where they can socialise, take part in activities and stay connected. "For many people, transport barriers can lead to loneliness and isolation, but a simple lift can make a huge difference."
