IBAC finds Daniel Andrews approved secret firefighters union deal that breached Victorian government rules

The secret negotiations between the government and union made senior ministers suspicious that Mr Marshall “had something over the Premier”, according to the report.
Camera Icon Former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews was found to have acted contrary to government policy but not corrupt conduct.
Mr Marshall complained that union officials had been pursued by IBAC and subjected to a politically motivated attack.
Mr Andrews said there was “no evidence whatsoever to support the false and completely outrageous claims that I had been blackmailed to force a favourable outcome for the United Firefighters Union (UFU) and its thousands of career firefighter members”.
Premier Ben Carroll, who last week promised to expand the definition of corrupt conduct and enhance IBAC’s powers, said the investigation had exposed unacceptable behaviour.
