A Christchurch town centre site could be converted into accommodation for tenants with specialist needs. BCP Council wants retrospective permission to convert the first floor of 36-40 High Street into five supported living one-bed flats. In planning documents, BCP states there are nearly 3,400 applicants on the Housing Register across the BCP area, of which nearly 1,200 need one-bedroom properties”.
