Claire Rodway was diagnosed with fibromyalgiaAt the inquest Ellen Robertson, representing Ms Rodway’s family, asked if religious retreats like Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery were “operating safely”. “Of particular cause for concern is the attitude of Rokpa Trust,” Ms Robertson continued. The inquest heard Ms Rodway attended the retreat in October 2024 despite suffering back pain but was not diagnosed with fibromyalgia until 3rd July 2025. The inquest heard Ms Rodway had sought help from the NHS, including five sessions with a psychotherapist between May and August 2025.
