The Oconee County Council chairman commented as he successfully motioned to make changes at final reading of the ordinance that created the Corinth-Shiloh special district, following a referendum of the voters inside the service territory. But Durham’s move for Oconee County Council to reappoint the existing five-member board was challenged by Corinth-Shiloh residents. Corinth-Shiloh residents who voted in the referendum said they cast their votes under the promise that, following the initial appointments of the first five-member board, they’d get to decide future board membership in popular elections.
