Police officer stepped into live M3 traffic to save injured woman hit by car

PC Colin Jackson risked his life on the M3 near Fleet services, stopping traffic in the dark to reach the injured woman, give first aid and get her help.
He received a Certificate of Congratulations at the Joint Operations Unit Awards at Holdsworth Hall, Sulhamstead, on June 23.

PC Jackson stepped into live motorway lanes and stopped traffic so he could reach the woman and give first aid.
Chief Superintendent Simon Dodds said: "PC Jackson demonstrated exceptional courage and professionalism in an extremely challenging and dangerous situation.
