Dena Collins, from Eltham in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, died on January 12, 2023, after suffering a heart attack caused by a blood clot, despite having raised concerns about her symptoms with both her GP and hospital staff.
On January 11, she went to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Greenwich with four days of leg pain, fever, and diarrhoea.
"If there is one thing I hope people take from her story, it is this – trust your body, trust your gut.
"While nothing can change the sad outcome for Dena and her family, the learnings coming out of her death will help drive changes for future patients.
"We continue to offer the Collins family our sincere condolences and are here to offer any further support they may need."
