MD Special Session Ends with Passage of Redistricting Legislation; Gov Moore to Sign Bill Wednesday

The Maryland General Assembly has passed a constitutional amendment that, if ratified by voters in November, will clarify the way Maryland’s congressional districts are drawn.
The 2026 Special Session came to an end Tuesday afternoon.
The Maryland Republican Caucus says that the majority party has succeeded in disenfranchising over a million Marylanders.
The last minute Special Session eliminated the minority party’s ability to bring other legislation that was important to Marylanders but suspended the constitutional requirements of notice and public comment for this ballot question.
Governor Wes Moore will sign the legislation on Wednesday at 3pm.
