The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has urged the public to be aware of their food safety rights, encouraging consumers to check food establishments’ compliance with food safety requirements and report unsafe practices.
The ministry said food safety begins with raising awareness and stressed that consumers have the right to know how well food establishments comply with food safety requirements.
Consumers may ask a food establishment to show its rating under the Food Safety Rating Programme or view the establishment’s rating through the Ministry of Public Health’s website.
The ministry also said consumers have the right to object to practices that may affect food safety.
