That’s exactly why I believe Lancashire needs an elected mayor as soon as possible, and the Mayor should be elected in 2027.
10 years ago, when Greater Manchester was getting its Mayoral powers sorted, Lancashire said “no thanks”, and since then we’ve lost out.
It’s about making sure decisions about Lancashire are made in Lancashire, not in Whitehall.
