The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday (August 4) charged with one count each of rape and attempted rape. The alleged offences are said to have happened in Nelson in October last year. The boy, from Colne, will face a trial on February 1, 2027. A second boy, aged 15 and from Thornton-Cleveleys, also appeared in the dock and pleaded guilty to one count of rape, also alleged to have happened in Nelson last October. He was bailed and will be sentenced following the conclusion of his co-accused's trial.
