Eilish Dowds, 71, launched a GoFundMe appeal in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity after watching crews battle the blaze at Dunwich Heath, close to the caravan site where she has owned a holiday home for the last three years. Hundreds of firefighters have been tackling the blaze for nearly a week, coming from as far as Yorkshire to assist in the efforts. The areas surrounding Dunwich Heath were evacuated. The caravan park has been evacuated and residents are still unsure when they will be able to return. The money raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides physical and mental health support to serving and retired firefighters across the UK.
