A major project to preserve and protect one of Tenbury Wells’ historic bridges has been completed by Worcestershire County Council, ensuring Kyre Bridge remains operational for residents, businesses and visitors for many years to come.
Both structures are owned and maintained by Worcestershire County Council.
The need for restoration was identified through the council’s regular bridge inspection programme, which highlighted deterioration affecting both the road bridge and footbridge.
According to Worcestershire County Council, temporary works were carefully designed in consultation with the Environment Agency to minimise impacts on fish and the surrounding watercourse.
“Kyre Bridge is not only an important transport link but also a significant historic structure within Tenbury Wells’ Conservation Area.”
