The federal government has introduced a unified curriculum framework for technical and vocational education and training (TVET), directing federal institutions to adopt National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) approved curricula to improve standardization and quality across the sector. According to official documents, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) has instructed its affiliated organizations and educational institutions to implement the prime minister’s directives on registration, affiliation, and curriculum alignment with NAVTTC. The directives have been shared with institutions including the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), the National Institute of Electronics (NIE), COMSATS University Islamabad, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), and the National University of Technology (NUTECH). The committee aligned the reviewed curricula with National Occupational Skills Standards developed under the NAVTTC Act, 2011, which authorizes the commission to develop national skills standards, curricula, trade testing, and certification systems for technical and vocational education. Federal TVET institutions have been directed to implement the approved curricula and submit certificates confirming compliance within the prescribed timeframe.
